We are located right here in your community, growing healthy food for your family, and this is why we do what we do:
We are dedicated to compassionate care of animals, stewardship of the land, and the enjoyment of healthy, delicious food. We believe the source of nourishing meat is animals that are raised humanely, eating the diet nature intended for them while living in their natural environment. Our practices are organic or as natural as possible.
Nestled On Green Pastures atop a Misty Knoll, our farm is home to sheep, goats, cattle, pigs, chickens, turkeys and laying hens in a setting that allows them to express their natural instincts. Our sheep and cattle wander the lush pastures, grazing on a salad bar of grasses and legumes, and in winter they eat hay grown on our farm. Goats browse the woods' edge, devouring brambles and briars to their hearts' delight. Our pigs root in the soil, wallow in the mud and frolic with each other. The poultry live on our chemical-free pastures, foraging, taking dust baths and digging for grubs and bugs. None of our animals are given hormones or prophylactic doses of antibiotics.
For like-minded eaters, we are your authentic source for food that is conscientiously and deliberately raised to be both nutritious and delicious! Our invitation to you is to come to the farm and observe our practices first-hand. You will see that none of our animals are in feed lots to be "grain finished." They spend their entire lives foraging on pastures.
Try to visit the farm where your food is raised and see if they will let you into their facilities. If they turn you down, they may cite "biosecurity" as the reason. But to us, food security means knowing that your food is raised the way you would do it yourself. So don't just take our word for it or believe what's printed on a label. Like many other local farmers, we are totally transparent and we welcome educated consumers who get their peace of mind from first-hand knowledge.
It's not our intention to disparage other approaches to food production. Our position is simply that if issues related to the production of your food matter to you, then we encourage you to support farmers who give you access to their operations to help you make informed buying decisions for your family.
