Welcome to On Green Pastures at Misty Knoll Farm. We are two sisters who raise a diversity of livestock on 70 acres just outside of Royersford, PA. Our goal is to provide naturally-raised meat to families in our community who want to source their food from outside the industrial food system.
We've each pursued our own separate interests in our farming operations, with the exception of our 100% grass-fed beef, which we raise jointly. Here's a brief primer on who does what, and how to order our locally-raised meat for your family:
Fabian's farm is On Green Pastures, and you can navigate to her web page by clicking on her farm name. She raises hogs organically on pasture and in the woods. For the second spring in a row, she has Berkshire, Duroc, Landrace and Yorkshire crosses. Previously she has raised purebred Large Blacks and purebred Tamworths. She also raises chicken and turkey on pasture.
Sue's farm is Misty Knoll Farm, and you are currently on her web page. She raises pastured eggs and 100% grass-fed lamb and goat. Sue also sells raw fleeces, washable tanned lamb skins and goat hides, as well as baby lambs and goats to homesteaders to raise their own wool or meat and to help manage weeds and lawn mowing.
To learn more about how all our animals are managed in a pasture-based system, or to order any of our meats, go to the appropriate pages under "Farm Products." Click here, then use the navigation bar at the top of Fabian's page for her pork, turkey and chicken. Use the navigation box on the left side of this page for Sue's eggs, lamb and goat.
For a greater in-depth understanding about our practices, and to share more intimate stories about our daily experiences please explore our blog, "Farm Life." If you friend us on Facebook, you will see our blog entries as we post them. Please direct any questions you may have to either of us through email (found on the "Contact Us" page), or through comments in Facebook or on our blog. And by all means, email us to schedule a time to come on over for a tour!
